Decibelles, 2007

Fiona Conroy

Fiona is one of the Decibelles' more recent recruits. She has always enjoyed music and singing, and particularly appreciates the social aspects of being in a singing group. Prior to joining the Decibelles she has sung in various choirs, an operatic group and has even been in an Eisteddfod at Bangor (whatever that might be!) She also sings jazz and until quite recently was called upon occasionally to be the singer in a jazz band made up of male teenagers! Her not-so secret ambition is to be an occasional nightclub singer in a smoky nightclub - except for the smoking.

Fiona is loved by her fellow Decibelles for her outrageous sense of humour, and extremely direct language. Her hospitality is legendary: she regularly allows the group to descend upon her home on a Wednesday evening for a noisy few hours of singing and laughter, and has perfected the art of making tea of the correct shade to suite every other member of the group; thus rendering herself completely indispensable.
